Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge

Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge has been a North Vancouver attraction since 1912 and attracts visitors from the world over.

Suspended 50 m (give or take a centimeter or two) above the canyon bottom, this narrow, wobbly bridge provides some spectacular photo ops. Although a bit nerve racking for those who are scared of heights, it is completely safe and well worth the crossing.

The bridge also acts the scenic gateway to hours of adventure in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park. Hours of hiking for all levels awaits you on the other side. If you do venture onto the trails, make sure you have proper footwear. It is not uncommon to see people in heels and loafers trying to negotiate the rocks, roots and tree stumps that make up these trails.

If you head down stream you will come two twin falls in about 15 minutes of easy hiking. There are some great places to take a picture or two and if you are looking for a refreshing dip in some ice cold water, head upstream to thirty foot pool. This is a popular swimming spot for locals and tourists alike. The water is amazingly clear and a great spot to cool down on a hot summers day.

Please be warned, if you do decide to go for a swim be very carful as this creek has taken many lives over the years because of its strong currents and rough terrain. If you are unsure, DO NOT SWIM. There are usually locals around who can point out some good spots for a dip but please be careful.

Lynn Canyon Ecology Center has been the guardian of this beautiful park for almost Forty years. Located at the entrance to Lynn Canyon Park, I highly recommend stopping in for a peek before you venture further into the park.
